Since 1876, the scent of freshly roasted coffee has wafted through the streets of central Lier every week.
Coffee roastery Van Ouytsel has been roasting its specialty coffees in the same artisanal way for 6 generations, several times a week.
The machines have since been updated, but the heavenly flavours of the coffees have been a way of life in Lier for years.
The roasting process is so unique that in 2014, Van Ouytsel coffee roastery was awarded the title of regional product for 2 of their blends that have not changed since 1930: Java Mocha and De Doornenkroon blend.
