Near the Timmermans-Opsomer house, there used to be a pleasure garden with buildings, greenhouses, a garden, a bleachery and hay fields. In the early 20th century the grounds were purchased by the city and redesigned as a public park. The grass square behind the Timmermans-Opsomer house is used primarily for events.
The city park features an adventure playground, a lounging and picnic area with a sunshade.
Tales are regularly told in the storytelling house. The Coffee House offers tasty snacks, drinks and ice cream. A public bike pump and repair kit are available.
