Zimmer was passionate about clocks and astronomy. His most important works can be found in the Zimmer Museum and the Zimmer Tower.
Isidoor Opsomer was a painter and taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he later became director. He was made a baron in 1940.
